ok here is my first restaurant review....
Tonight we went to the Yak and Yeti in York which is a Nepalese restaurant . I didn't know what to expect because I have never been to this restaurant before. It was a bit like being in a Thai restaurant when we arrived because it had things like Buddahs on the walls and pictures of mountains etc. It was empty when we arrived - no one was there but this is because it was early on a Sunday evening.
To start with I had chili chips. Mum has MoMos which were dumplings filled with lamb. Sam had a soup and Dad had chicken. My chili chips weren't spicy hot but tasted very nice. Sam really liked Mums dumplings but as usual Dad decided that his cooking was far better and we were worried that he was going to start telling the people that owned the restaurant how to cook!
For main course I had something called chicken marsala but it wasn't like an indian curry, it was a dry chicken with peppers and beans. Dad and Sam had lamb curry but it looked like sams soup with meatballs in it! Mum had fish which looked the most impressive when it came out but there was also a black muddy dip which looked like something from Im a Celebrity Get me Out of Here bushtucker trials!
I don't think it was the best restaurant I have ever been to but I did quite like it. Also the people who sat on the table next to us had a son who worked making props for the film industry and they were really interesting because they told me that their son was in Budapest doing a film about Ian Flemming which should come out later this summer. I think they were impressed about how much I knew about James Bond which is why we all started talking.
Overall Mum said it was quite expensive because the bill was £93 but we had a half price dining voucher. We had a good time but Mum said she wouldn't have been happy paying full price!
After dinner we went to a haunted pub called the Golden Slipper to have a drink. It was quite funny because a man fell over..... adults eh!
